This restaurant is located in beautiful Old Town, San Diego. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Halloween and Day of the Dead. It was so colorful and gorgeous! We did find parking right away in their parking lot which was great as parking could be challenging in this area. The restaurant was packed and people waiting, but we got seated right away, probably because we were only a party of 3 and a smaller crowd. We ordered a variety of margaritas, we got the guava, the original lime and a chili mango. Margaritas were delicious, but I didn't taste alcohol. We ordered chicken flautas which came with rice and beans. That was a favorite. I also got tortilla chicken soup, which I loved the broth and shredded chicken with fresh vegetable. I ordered the Mexican chopped salad, amazing and huge with fresh veggies, fruit, and grilled chicken. That is a definite re-order.

Best authentic Mexican food in Old Town! They have amazing plates and drinks to choose from, and their dishes are so huge. I do wish they offered a shrimp burrito. Sometimes the servers are able to make an exception and the other times they aren't so I just have to settle with a chicken burrito.

Simply the best Mexican restaurant anywhere in the world ... ever. Service was almost instantaneous. The ambiance took us on a trip to Sonora without having to show our passports. And the food - it can't be beaten. Such a shame we don't live anywhere near San Diego. It would be our regular go-to place. Most highly recommended.

Amazing food and drinks! Brought a friend who has a gluten allergy and they had a gluten-free menu as well as a dedicated fryer for gluten free tortilla chips! I ordered the fried fish taco plate. Delish!

By far the best fajitas and tortillas I've ever had yet. I thought the tortillas at the mexican market was good, but now having tried the fresh flour tortillas which were piping hot and had a soft chewy texture, I don't want to go back to store bought ones. Ordered the beef & chicken combo fajitas which was delicious alongside a ceviche which was pretty good. The ambiance really seems to capture the hispanic culture: staff are dressed in traditional dresses, they have a live mariachi band who sings happy birthday to your table, and the decorations are very neat. Just note when you come here, the parking lot is very small and tight. There was a waitlist, but it only took 30 minutes so we went to browse old town SD.

This is one of the original Old Town San Diego restaurants - like the days when Bazaar Del Mundo ruled - and San Diego decided not to renew their lease. So Old Town has changed quite a bit, but Casa Guadalajara has always remained like an old friend. The interior is amazing - from the pottery to the carvings on the bar - even the stained glass chandeliers in the main dining room. Most folks opt for outside seating where you sit under this gargantuan tree. Food is good - not too heavy or greasy. They make their own tortillas and the flan was excellent. Service is also attentive and I don't think I had to ask to fill my drink once.

Nice place to take someone out to a restaurant. Super busy and lively inside, definitely a place you would take your relatives or a date to. There's a mariachi band too. Think they're there Friday and the weekend. Food was decent. I didn't think it was particularly extraordinary but thought it was good. I got the enchilada plate and the guacamole.

The food here was really good. Our party of 6 sat at an outdoor table. Service by Elizabeth was also good, efficient and friendly. The place is nice but not over the top wow. My carnitas were tasty and moist. The flour tortillas were warm and had that homemade feel. Thank you Cafe Guadalajara.

It's been awhile since we've come here but I remembered the food was good and the margaritas are big so we decided to stop In. Again we weren't greeted very well and it took quite a minute to get chips and salsa and I had to ask three times for water BUT the food is amazing and the margaritas were huge (medium size is 27 Oz) We split the shrimp /mango tacos ... so Much food--way too much for one person. They were excellent
